Its Auction time! Our February meeting is our bi-annual auction and potluck luncheon.

Its time to go through your fiber, yarn, book and equipment stashes! Have items you want to retire to make room
for new ones? Here is your chance to make room for all that wonderful stuff you purchase from our vendors and then go home with a treasure! Plus, you are helping the Guild bring you more wonderful programs by raising funds.

Here is what you need to do:
Bring your items to guild at 8:30 am.
Bring a coffee cup or a cup for cold drinks
Bring cash & a blank check
Bring a dish or drinks to share for our Potluck. (Please note, we have many people with food allergies and food sensitivities. Please list the ingredients to be put next to your dish or better yet, make copies of the recipe and share it!).
Don’t forget to support our wonderful vendors!
Plan on having lots of fun!

A couple of important notes:
We have very limited outlets at our space in the church and in the kitchen, so we do need to discourage crock pots - we may not have a place to plug them in! Sorry!

About auction items, we are looking for fiber-related items that are in good condition only. We will be checking items over at the start of the auction and may elect to return items to the person donating them if they are deemed not in salable condition. Thanks for understanding!

A quick note about “weather” - we’re hoping for good weather on the day of the meeting, of course (cross those fingers!). It is February and it is New England, however, so a snow storm is always a possibility. The Guild typically does not cancel meetings and leaves it to the discretion of the members to attend or not based on their comfort level.

That said, in the event of a severe snow storm in which St. John’s Church elects not to open the building or the state of CT issues a state of emergency, we will cancel the meeting. We will post any cancellation information here and on our website, as well as on our Facebook page. For current members who have provided us with an email address, we will also send out an email letting you know that the meeting has been cancelled. If we don’t do any of these in bad weather, the meeting is still on :-)


The meeting runs from 8 to 3 at St. John’s Church, Farmington Ave, West Hartford. We look forward to seeing you there!
